Dendrobium cucullatum is widespread throughout southeast Asia It is a cool to warm growing epiphyte with pendulous canes. Grow it in a well-drained medium, in dappled to bright indirect light and 70%-75% humidity. Conditions are very wet for 5 months in summer, very dry for 5 months in winter, with short transition periods in autumn and spring. Cultivated plants should be kept evenly moist from spring to early autumn, but water should be gradually reduced in late autumn after new growths mature. The flowers are strongly fragrant and purportedly smell like violets.
Dendrobium cucullatum is also known as Dendrobium aphyllum.
