This is a hybrid seedling of Cymbidium goeringii and Cymbidium Olymilum 'White Elf', officially registered as Cymbidium Goerin Elf by the RHS. Prepare for an abundance of lush leaves and dainty white to green blooms accompanied by a pleasantly fragrant scent. You might spot a sporadic peachy-pink bloomer here and there.
The photo shown on each available variant is indicative of the size of the plant that you will receive. Size B plants can be expected to reach flowering size in 3-4 years; Size B+ plants in 2-3 years; Size C plants in 6-18 months (depending on the flowering season and time of purchase). Please check carefully when selecting options to avoid “size surprise”.
Due to the miniature growth habits of the parents plants of the different sizes indicated above may all be in the same 5cm propagation pot.
Cymbidium Orchids, sometimes known as Boat Orchids, are a tolerant, easy to grow Orchid with intermediate to large flowers, often with a full, luscious lip. Grown outdoors in cool to intermediate conditions, they are fond of dappled light under trees to avoid the heat of the full sun.
What you will eventually see flowering will be a blending of the two parents. In some cases we are able to provide you with a photo of the progeny, however please bear in mind that variations in colour, etc are expected with seedling crosses.
