Flask of Paphiopedilum rothschildianum x sib (DS6.5 x Mt Everest) with 2 plants to the flask. Two superior parents have been used in this crossing. Can be deflasked between Spring and Autumn, they will however need to be protected over the following winter until they are of a size that will manage normal growing conditions. Advice on deflasking can be found on our website link: https://www.tuckersorchidnursery.co.nz/pages/growing-orchids-from-flask
Images supplied are of the parents and an indicative image of a flask, plant sizes in the flask may vary depending on variety.
Paphiopedilum, found in the tropical forests of Southeast Asia reaching as far north as southern China, are commonly known as Slipper Orchids. Paphiopedilum is quite easy to cultivate and therefore is popular among orchid enthusiasts. Grow them outdoors in sheltered, shady corners of your garden, or indoors in the cooler parts of the house.
